Term 2 Learning Goals

On this page we will be posting our Term 2 Learning goals. We should be EXPERTS at writing ‘Quality Comments’, but in case you need a refresher you can check out the link to the guidelines!

  1. Dear 5NR,
    I am excited about NAPLAN because it is a very big event.
    My goal for this term is to improve on solving worded problems.
    – One of the things I will do is study math worded problems.
    – I will try to read other books and pull out the main ideas so I can get better at finding key words.
    – I will also improve by asking my sister to make worded problems for me.
    I’m looking forward to NAPLAN. Thank you for reading.

    I am excited about learning new things about our science topic.
    My goal for this term is to develop a better understanding in worded problems.
    1. One thing I will do is practise in and out of school.
    2. I will also try and challenge myself with more complicated sums.
    3. I will aim to learn new techniques and strategies that I can use in NAPLAN.
    I hope to complete my goal and learn new things in term 2.

    I am interested in learning more about fractions and decimals. My goal for this term is to fully understand decimals.
    1. I will aim to practice questions about decimals.
    2. I will try to find different ways to solve problems.
    3. I will also do this by trying my best if I don’t know.
    I hope to improve my decimals. Have you ever got 100%?

    My goal for this term is to improve on my fractions and adding them.
    1. I will aim to improve this by practising more at home.
    2. I will try to do this by using the books that I have at home.
    3. I will also do this by asking my teacher for worksheets to help me.

  5. Greetings everyone!
    I am excited about learn more and harder PEDMAS this term.
    My goal for this term is to achieve my ‘solving longer PEDMAS goal’.
    1. One of the things I will do is to start from easy to harder PEDMAS
    2. I will try to do 2 PEDMAS sums (min.) per day to step up to my goal
    3. I will also try to challenge myself to ‘the power of –‘ sums

    I am really excited about Grade 5 camp, because I always have so much fun.
    My goal for this term is to keep developing my times tables.
    1. One of the things I will do to get better at this is to be tested so I remember.
    2. I will try to practise, by using math books.
    3. I will also try new strategies to work out answers.
    I hope to see you achieving your goals!!

    I am excited about NAPLAN being nearly over because it is stressful.
    My goal for this term is to improve my worded problems.
    I will try to improve it by asking my family members to give me worded problems to solve. I will aim to be better at finding and pulling out key words. Another thing I will do is try to understand worded problems more so I can solve them quicker.

    I am excited about sharing my ideas about my term 2 learning goals.
    My goal for term 2 is to get better at my times tables.
    1. One of the things I will do to help this is to practice with times table question cards.
    2. I will also do this by picking times table based tasks for my home learning.
    3. I will also try to go on Mathletics more often.
    I hope to achieve my goal this term.

    I am excited about being with my favourite teacher for the second term this year.
    My goal is to get better on my worded problems.
    One thing I’ll do to get better is to do my NAPLAN workbooks.
    I will also do this by always choose to do worded problems.
    I will aim to underline the key words and will try to present my work neater.

    I am excited about this term as there are exciting things.
    My goal for this term is to improve on my rotational symmetry.
    One of the things I will do is to practice it at home. I will also do this by listening to Mrs Robson. I will try to focus more on rotational symmetry rather than other areas of maths. I know I will achieve my goal throughout the term.

    I am excited about ICAS, NAPLAN and the excursion and incursion that we are going to have this term.
    My goal for this term is to improve my fraction skills.
    One of the things I will do to support this goal is doing fraction questions at home. I will also do this by choosing a fractions task for the maths part of the homework some weeks. I will aim to do more fraction questions. I hope to reach my goal.
    I know I will enjoy this term.

    I am excited about this terms inquiry topic, it is ‘What’s the matter’.
    My goal for this term is to learn my times tables.
    One thing I will do is to practice at home DAILY.
    I will also try my hardest when it comes to the weekly test.
    I will not give up until I achieve this goal.

    I am excited about having an incursion this term.
    My goal for this term is to improve on my multiplication and division.
    I will aim to practise my times tables to help me with longer sums. I will try to check over my work more so I don’t make mistakes. Another thing I will do is play more online maths games.

    I am interested in doing time and gathering data.
    My goal for this term is that I want to be great at time and data.
    1. One of the things I will do is to practise every day after school and telling the time better.
    2. I will also try to ask my parents to ask me what the time is everyday.
    3. I will aim to practise on my data skills everyday.
    I hope I will achieve this goal and get perfect at it.

    One of the things I will do is to keep practising. I will also do this by understanding the problem and find the key words. I will try to do this by paying attention to the teacher.

    I am excited about term 2 and I look forward to all the possibilities and opportunities.
    My goal for this term is to improve my algebra skills.
    I have always been confused about this particular topic and I will try my hardest to concentrate when we are focusing on it. I will also focus on algebra if the opportunity comes up on a homework sheet. I will also practise at home if I can so that I can improve rapidly. This will help with our upcoming NAPLAN tests.
    I hope to achieve my goal and I can’t wait to start.

    I am excited about learning new things and inter school sports like soccer and footy.
    My goal for this for this term is to learn algebra and be good at it.
    1. I will do this goal by practising at home every 4 days of the week.
    2. I will aim to do amazing and not make one mistake.
    3. I will try to do this by working hard, no one trying to distract me, and do my best. I know I will not fail.

  19. S’up world,
    WOW! Term 2 has been amazingly fun. I am really excited about the excursions and incursions we are going to have this term.
    I think we should have an incursion about ancient Egypt or the Battle of Thamopolie.
    This term I am focusing on being able to multiply fractions.
    I will make sure that I will consistently practice at home, I will concentrate extra well when I am learning it at school and I will also work my way up from the more simple to the more complicated problems.

  20. Dear people of the world
    I am interested to see if Mrs Robson will teach us any new maths equations or new versions of measurement
    My term 2 goal is to be better at algebra.
    I will practise not just the hardest but also the easy ones in my everyday life.
    In my spare time I’ll practise the short and easy ones to help with the big ones.
    I’ll add algebra to my multiplication and division practise to get better.
    I hope to be able to work out algebra really fast and really well

    I am excited about camp in term 4 at camp Rumbug.
    My goal for this term is to improve doing worded problems.
    One of the things I will do is to ask my parents to write down problems for me to solve
    I will also do this by practicing and doing worksheets at school
    I will also get better at it by using new stratagies.

    I can’t wait until ICAS and NAPLAN comes!
    My goal for this term is to work on worded math problems.
    One thing I will do to achieve this goal is to scan the text better and look for clues and key words that might help me get the answer.
    I will also try to achieve this goal by double checking my answers to see if I have forgotten something in the text.
    To achieve this goal I will also re-read the text over to understand it a little bit more. I will also try to make my working out more clear so I can see if I have made any mistakes. Thanks for reading my post and I hope I achieve my goal.

    I am excited about this term because I am doing lots of new and different things
    My goal for this term is to get better at my handwriting.
    I can do this by concentrating and taking my term while doing work.
    I will also do this by ignoring people who try to distract me.
    Finally, I can do this by doing more reading and writing at home.
